The Request Show

Your audience picks the setlist.

A live acoustic show with a twist: every guest's phone becomes the request line. They choose the songs from a live list, vote for what they want to hear next, and watch it all play out on the big screen. The room decides what happens next, all night.

    What the app actually does

Every guest at the show gets a live view of the night on their own phone — and every choice they make lands on the screen behind me.

Request any song on the list

My whole repertoire sits in the app. A guest searches it on their phone, picks a song and sends it in — with their name attached.

The room votes for what's next

Every guest can back a request with a vote. The queue reorders live, so the songs the most people want rise to the top of the night.

    Song battles

Four crowd favourites go head to head. The room votes on their phones, the results build on the screen, and the winning song gets played.

Their names up on the screen

Now playing, the request queue, who asked for what and how many votes it has — all live on the big screen behind me, all night.

    Tips and shout-outs

Guests can add an optional card tip with a message. Approved messages appear on the screen as a shout-out to whoever they're with.

    Free drink prize draw

Guests enter their name from their phone, and a winner is drawn live on the screen — a proper cheer moment for the bar.

What guests see on their phone

Nothing to download and no login — they scan the code on the table and the show page opens in their browser. A mock-up of the three screens they use most.

Call the winner in a song battle

    The lighting show answers back

The lights aren't running a fixed pattern behind me — they're wired to the app. Anything the audience does can trigger a cue, a chase or a lighting macro of its own.

    A song starts

Every song can call its own look — a warm wash for a ballad, deep blue for a slow one, party colours when the room is up for it.

    Lights: cue per song

    Somebody follows

When a guest follows the socials from the request page, their name goes up on the screen and the stage answers with a sweep of light.

    Lights: celebration sweep

A tip or super like lands

A card tip or a paid super like fires its own burst, so the whole room sees the moment — and sees who it was.

    Lights: burst of colour

    A song battle runs

The lights move with the round: a build through the countdown, a flash on the reveal, a different colour for sudden death.

    Lights: chase + flash

    The draw winner is revealed

The prize draw spins on the screen and the winner lands with a chase across the stage — the cheer moment of the night.

    Lights: winner chase

    Show live, break or over

Each part of the night has its own resting look, so the stage reads right whether the room is in a song or at the bar.

    Lights: house looks

I set up each reaction before the show from my own lighting desk, so the whole thing runs itself from the stage. There's nothing for your team to operate, and the house lights stay yours.

    How the audience gets involved

Thirty seconds from sitting down to making their first request. It's built for a room full of people who've never seen it before.

    1

    They scan the code

A QR code on the table — or a short link — opens the show page in their browser. No app to install, no account, no signing up.

    2

    They ask for a song

The full song list is right there. They search it, pick something they want to hear and send it in with their name.

    3

    They vote it up

If they love someone else's request, they back it. Votes decide the order, so the room is genuinely choosing the set.

Everything happens in the browser on their own phone — nothing for them to download, and nothing for your team to hand out or explain.

Why it works for your venue

It is live music an audience takes part in, rather than sits through — which is exactly what keeps a room full and a bar busy.

It keeps people in the room

A request in the queue and a vote in play is a reason not to leave yet. Guests stay to see whether their song makes it on — and order another round while they wait.

    The crowd becomes the entertainment

Between songs there's always something happening: the queue moving, a battle going to the wire, a name up on the screen. It gives every table something to watch and argue about.

    Something different to promote

An interactive request show is an easy thing to shout about on your listings. It gives the night a hook beyond 'live music on Friday'.

No extra work for your team

Nothing to hand out, no tablets on the bar, no one explaining anything. I bring the app, the screen display and the songs, and run it from the stage myself.

    What I bring

    • The full interactive show, run from the stage
    • The app, my song list and the live request and voting system
    • The stage screen display, QR codes and table cards
    • My own PA and lighting-friendly setup

    What you need

    • One TV or projector I can run the screen on
    • A mains socket near the stage
    • Venue Wi-Fi, or decent phone signal for guests

No screen available? I can bring one — just say when you enquire.

What the venue needs to know

The short answers to what bookers usually ask me first.

    Ask about a date

Tell me where you are and roughly when. I'll come back with availability, what the show needs from your room and a price.
